All we've heard for the past couple of years is we had to lift the minimum wage to $15 an hour. All I see now are help wanted sign offering to pay $15 an hour and nobody wants the jobs. The $15 an hour schtick was all a lie.

Wrong- the $300 extra per week until Sept. is what is making people stay on the couch.
Call centers are even starting at $18/hour now (Spectrum), unfortunately it is a call center.

...and cafe and restaurants minimum wage is somewhere between $8-9 an hour plus tips. Given the instability with a number of jobs, tips could be highly variable right now.

Bingo. This is almost the sole reason nobody can find employees. I haven't met a single person under the age of 50 that was scared to work because of COVID. There are plenty of people not interested in working right now, and the reason is a nice lazy vacation paid for by the government (or by those of us still working, actually). Our company had several people call us just to say they were satisfying their unemployment quota for job searching to earn benefits and didn't actually want the job. Keep in mind, we are paying much higher than minimum wage, but people would still rather be lazy.

This is good news. Lots of new jobs at Amazon and it is only 45 miles to Pueblo where the employees can afford to live. I foresee a slight traffic problem.

So you think at those wages people will drive 90 miles/day plus have the gas expense (which is not going to be under $3/gallon for quite some time, if ever) not to mention the time for the commute?
Very doubtful- the best that can happen is CO. ends the $300 federal UI benefit as some states are doing. Seems when that happens people actually go back to work.
