I like this thread better than the other because it has a lot less smack an a lot more info.

Please, if you'd like to add to my thread, do so. I put a lot of time and effort into it.

If you don't like it, please start your own thread and take your own pics. I'll be glad to support it.

We all have our own opinions and taste buds.

Enjoy Pueblo!

Default Cuca's Restaurant

Here's a Mexican restaurant that I was recommended. This place has awesome food. It's certainly off the beaten path. I will be going back here for takeout. I had some beef tacos on corn which were great and the beef enchilada plate with rice and beans and I would recommend this.

It's just a bit north of Pueblo Blvd. on Lake or a bit south of Northern or St. Mary Corwin Hospital on Lake. Don't know about the bar. I hear the Menudo is great from people who like that.

I suppose a lot of the people who come in to Pueblo, as the State Fair is cranking up, prefer to eat at the larger, franchised restaurants near the interstate or by Pueblo Mall. That's cool! Me? I like to eat where the locals eat, and it's places like Cuca's is where I like to chow down. I always am seeing the employees and management refer to customers by their names, and I like that. The last time I was in there late they were busy all the way to closing, and I like that! The employees going that extra mile for the customer, and I REALLY like that!

Look at the prices on that Cuca's menu, pretty reasonable, huh?! Yep, those are the type of restaurants I like, the mom and pop ones!

And BTW, the food? The BIG yums!

Thx 4 the appreciation of the mom and pops! I found a nice place to pick up a good pizza near Jones and Lake. It's called Kimi's. I recommend the pepperoni, sausage, and jalapeno. It's another one of those mom and pops and it seems to be only take out for now.

The fair is over... till next year. We went back on Monday to see what we missed. It's good we went early. It was pretty crowded. I thought the fair wasn't going to good this year, but I think they did pretty well. Maybe people just aren't spending all their money to leave the state this year. Keep it local!

Default Tortilleria Delicias

Found another gem here in Pueblo. It's just a place I used to go to get fresh tortillas, but lately, I've been going there for some of the best ever tamales for about $6.50 for a half dozen.

Now the guy told me about the green chile and the red chili, both with tons of pork. I got a half quart and this is just the best stuff.

It's not a fancy place. Order out only. The menudo and carnitas is weekend only, I believe. Got to go in for some tortillas and tamales if nothing else. They have some really good food here for cheap.

From whom besides Liveability Magazine. I'm not downing the food (never been there) but questioning the source as the photos in the magazine show very pedestrian cuisine.

Pueblo has something that you usually only find in large metros, great mom and pop restaurants and good chain restaurants. Pueblo even has some great fine dining in downtown with 1521, DC's on B Street, Magpies, Rio Bistro etc. Plus we have great festivals built around food like the Chili festival that gets over 100,000 people and others like the Wild Wild Festival, BBQ and Blues, state fair that have great food. All in a city of only 100,000 people. That is why it made the list and why we are always in the restaurant news even in Denver, a metro of over 2 million, as resturant shows on the largest radio station, 850 KOA, talk about Pueblo and comment on how they drive down to eat at some of our resturants. Even President Obama made time to go out to eat while he was in town at one of our local favorite Mexican food resturants.

Hey Josseppie, this is off-topic, but I'm palnning on going to the Wild West Fest in Pu-town tomorrow. Is there anything you can tell me about it that i can't just read at their website? It looks like your typical community street-fair but I thought you might have a more captivating sales-pitch for it... You can DM me if you prefer not to occupy this thread with it.
