I would say buy in Newark where prices are still reasonable. It's a 20 min straight shot to that area of western Licking County. It has the most upside. Book mark this and check back in a couple years.

Absolutely. I don't take this stuff personally. It's more amusement than anything else.

Right!!

Side note, Im a project manager/contractor (carpenter by trade) and I had a client that lived close enough to GE Aviation over in Evendale and he wanted a bomb shelter in his basement for just that reason: nukes! So, I contacted a structural engineer that I work with on occasions and he drew up a bomb shelter to spec and using FEMA guidelines (for whatever they are worth). I opted out of building it because it was too specalized and in this industry you have to know when to bow out. I made out alright consulting though.

Instead of giving these companies decades long tax breaks to attract them, just to have them leave abandoned buildings when they expire, why don't they work on reducing taxes generally?

Government doesn't really lose anything with these deals. Taxes generally stay the same and what's abated are any NEW taxes caused by the new development. Plus, depending on the deal, they get some or all of the income taxes generated. It's win-win, really.

Whatever it is they're doing, it's working. JobsOhio has been a huge success.
