The Aquarium Inn and Suites blew up in September. There was a natural gas leak.

There are other small motels on CC beach though.

There certainly are cheap mom & pop motels in Corpus Christi, Tx! I grew up in Corpus Christi and I'm 50years old now. You have to look on North Leopard Street and North Beach (across the Causeway big bridge). It's hard for travellers to just find a safe, inexpensive motel just coming into town and not knowing anything. It isn't a 'safety' issue in Corpus - rarely any murders going down - but there are some motels that cater to hookers and addicts. Noisy and rooms doors banging all night is the issue, not safety. I disagree with whoever said only chain motels are safe in Corpus Christi. It's not true.
