I recently has a stent placed into a coronary artery. Did not have a heart attack. I am walking 2 miles daily per MD recommendations. Planning to join the local club.
I haven't had a heart attack or anything, but I've found that if I take a brisk walk everyday and do a few pushups while I'm at it, I sleep much better.
heart ATTACK 2017 ONE STENT. 2018 ANOTHER STENT. Take40 MG LIPITOR CORVIdilol; PLAVIK, (No aspirin it gives me heartburn)
Walk at least 2 miles a day. every day.
Have been fine. watch what you eat, lose weight if you need to.
Try to do a heart stress test once a year at least. I do it more often.
PCR ultra blood test is good for checking inflamation.
I had a pulmonic valve replacement in 2016. I did exercise in the four month run-up to the surgery, and lost about 20 pounds (I've since gained it back, because I've gotten lax on my workouts).
I used DDPYoga as my workout plan, and it worked very, very well.
I have high blood pressure. The doctor recommended 15k step per day. I started jogging on the treadmill after many years and almost blew out my right knee. I have to start back up, even if it's a gradual increase, but working the graveyard shift has me dragging once I wake up, all the way until I get back to work.

No cardiac procedures but the walking I see so many mention gets my vote for one of the better things you can do for yourself. My knees can't take the impact of running and I'd slacked off walking when the pandemic hit and no one seemed to know just how easy it was to get the cooties I just got back to walking 2-2 1/2 miles a day and after only 10 days already feel better physically.

Any others here?
I'm 77. Walked a lot - one year it was 700 miles - and stayed active. No medications, but did take the aspirin.
Chest discomfort built up slowly. Got worse. Had it checked. Didn't get any better.
Went in for a stent. It failed; said I was 99% blocked, so the next day they did a quadruple by pass. That was 2021 and now I feel great. Gym, 3X a week.
I'm sure the aspirin and the activity helped a lot. But it didn't prevent all problems. FWIW, the coronary bypass operation is not near as bad as you might think. 4 days in the hospital and steady recovery from then on.
I now prefer my trips to the gym over my old walking routine. I do a complete workout every time - stretch, cardio, weights. One hour.
Thanks for posting guys. Im 2.5 years out now. feeling very good no complications baby aspirin daily after 1 year with Eliquis. I'm still working. I mow the big lawn with a push mower battery powered and walk 5k steps 3-4x per week.
Dr. Fuhrman's reversed or prevented many instances of heart disease. In the book he discusses exercise and food. I'm finding the book fascinating. And very helpful.
I don't have heart disease, but am reading this to prevent it. My father did have cardiac issues for a long time before dying from a heart attack.
What I'm learning that exercise alone or diet alone won't prevent or reverse heart disease--it's a package deal.
