Hi there! Local Denver realtor here. I would suggest looking north of Denver and possibly NW area as well. Reunion and Commerce city has some nice size lots that would work and still have that country feel. Frederick is a smaller town feel but you can get some more with your money out there.

Would be happier under 350k. don't want my whole raise going to housing if I can help it.
I come back to the North side of Denver for the most bang for your buck. That $350,000 and under is tough although right now as we speak there has been a slow down this month, this is not unusual for July and I don't think this is the major change home buyers are looking for but there are some slower months like July, November, December, January that you may want to consider house hunting in. Inventory is usually lower at this time though.

Thornton, Northglenn (Fox Creek Neighborhood), Brighton, Westminster, Commerce City (Reunion), Broomfield (older neighborhoods with older homes, new neighborhoods will be above your price point) may fit what you are looking for best.

north of the rocky mont arsenal wild life refuge , west of E-470 , still homes around 300 K but not the most desirable area due to being near the airport . 4 bd 3 bth , 325 K . Reunion is not bad either .

Thanks guys. I had my first interview today. Fly to Vegas next week for interview number 2.
Vice president would like me to live north of Denver for ease of visiting locations.
Most of the suggestions have been north of Denver anyways. My current mortgage is $300k. I will be getting about a $20k raise. Wife may try to go back to work at Costco as well (worked there for 15 years).

Good luck. Maybe look at Golden or Arvada, then go farther north.

His stores are all on the west side. I would rule out Northglenn, Commerce City, the Adams County portions of Westminster, and especially Brighton.

We have several Costco's across the area. They are all pretty nice. Thornton and Arvada stores may be worth checking out if you do move to the North side and your wife decides to go back to work.

One more question. I looked online, but could not find the answer to this. In Idaho, the driving age is 15. If he has his license when we move to Colorado, can he get a Colorado license under 16? Not sure if anyone knows, but he is curious.
