Yep, much thanks to you!

But I've already had three conversations with transport drivers, explaining that details like the street designator is really, really important to get right... delivering my stuff to Whatever Way will do no good when I'm two blocks over on Whatever Circle (which is straight). Sigh.

Happens in Arlington as well. 18th road south, next to 18th street south.

I found this interesting document in my research on Denver Street names. A great resource!

OP, I feel your pain. BOY, do I feel your pain! It seems like street names are scattered throughout town randomly. There are Yales, Cornells, Bates-es, etc. strewn every which-way across town. And who decided Eastern preppie college names were a thing? Why is there no Stanford?

Also, can anyone tell me why Walgreen's is the only chain pharmacy/variety store apparently allowed to do business in Aurora? This looks really suspicious, people. Did Walgreens buy off the city planners?

I'd really love for there to be a Pharmaca somewhere in Aurora. But I'd also appreciate it, if the small, independent, locally-owned compounding pharmacies, the only ones allowed to exist in Walgreen's shadow, were allowed to carry the usual basic medical-related items, like basic pain relievers, sleep aids, antacids, toothbrushes, and that kind of thing. As it stands, it looks like they're only allowed to carry medical devices, like knee braces and whatnot, so as not to compete with Walgreen's.

There used to be RiteAids in Aurora, but Walgreens bought out the company. Had nothing to do with the Aurora City Planners. There are CVS stores in Aurora. Pharmacies are also located in Costco, Safeway, King Soopers, etc. So your statement about Walgreens being the only pharmacy allowed to do business is just not true.

I haven't seen any CVS ph'cies, but I see by a search, that there are a few in Aurora that are open. CVS is closing some of their locations around the country. We'll see how that pans out for Aurora. I had in mind dedicated pharmacy chains, not grocery store pharmacies. But...whatever. Thx for your input.

I don't know if there are any standalone CVS locations, but there are a handful of them located inside Target stores. There used to be a Rite-Aid at Smoky Hill and Picadilly, but it's a daycare now.

So you haven't seen any CVS, so your assumption is that there is a government conspiracy to allow ONLY Walgreens stores. Yet a simple on-line search found that there are CVS stores in Aurora. So, then maybe there isn't an evil city planner controlling pharmacies?

We found a locally owned pharmacy in town that we really like. They don't have the "mini shop" that Walgreens and CVS have, but that's at least where we get all our prescriptions filled. They know us by name, so that's nice.

Street names are assigned during the planning stage, before dirt is even moved. Names are usually directed by the developer paying for the project and can be created by their staff, the planner or their staff, the developer's wife, their kids, or whomever they designate or leave it to figure out using whatever sequence, nomenclature, themes, or whatever suites their fancy. Sometimes they may choose to carry over adjacent names, sometime not. Sometimes they may seek inspiration from something else, such as eastern colleges, or local flora and fauna. Some lack creativity and start carrying names over and over and simply change the designations, ie. street, lane, circle, etc. There are no requirements dictating street naming anywhere in CO law. Its all done on someone's whim, which is outlined by the document link in post #13 above.
