I was quoted $3,000 for moving from a 950 square foot house in NC to Denver with PODS. Anybody have a better, cheaper option? Thanks

I think that's a pretty good price.

If you look at renting a U Haul truck, loading it yourself and driving the 2,000 miles, the cost of just the truck rental is $1,000. Then you'd need to pay for gas, food, and lodging for this drive.

Have you looked at Two Men and a Truck? I have no idea what their prices are.

Is the PODS quote including guys coming and packing everything and filling the pod and then emptying it at the new place?
If it does you could get a quote for just the Pod and shipping it to new home and doing the packing/unpacking yourself.

Good luck on the move.

I moved from Colorado to California and I used PODS. They did an excellent job.

As for the price, it was a bit more expensive than renting a big truck, but I didn't want to drive a big truck myself.

Saw on the news last night that rental trucks, full of people's belongings, are now a ripe target for thieves who steal these loaded trucks from motel parking lots during the night. Another reason to hire a mover or use pod-like services for long distance moves. You can insure your goods for full value if you use a reputable van line and buy full value insurance as part of getting a binding estimate of the cost of your move.

I used PODs for the first time last summer. I moved a small one-bedroom from Colorado to DC metro. It was money well spent and I would def use them again. One suggestion is to hire professional movers to load it. Because, if not packed correctly your furniture will shift around inside the pod and become damaged during transport. My movers packed mines perfectly. Everything remained intact and nothing was damaged when it was delivered to me. The service was quick and hassle-free

If your belongings are moved by truck you're going to be affected by the high price of gas/diesel in one way or another...regardless who drives it!

We’ve used POD’s and selected movers for loading and unloading at our new located from their recommended moving company list and it all went very well and I would highly recommend using POD’s❗️
