Yes, but this whole "family-friendly" thing is implying the suburbs. Which is true for really any city...just most cities aren't as easily impressed by such rankings as Des Moines is.

The poll isnt "family friendly" it is best for families and it implies the entire metro (not including or excluding any city). If you took out Des Moines, for example, you'd lose too many of the good paying jobs that helps the high ranking.

I think it's very forgotten that most of the east/north sides of Des Moines proper generally look no different than Gary, Indiana. Maybe not quite that bad, and not nearly as dangerous, but it's overall rundown, and there's nothing appealing to families about that.
