Last August, the wife and I were in the market to replace our Jeep Wrangler. I am an avid hunter and outdoorsman and needed something that was capable of towing my boat and ATV, as well as having enough payload for all the gear I need to take for a week in the woods. While the lack of options for a large EV definitely was a factor, the biggest setback to purchasing one was price. Both the Ford Lightning and the Rivian start at over $100,000, and that's not including a charging station in the garage to make owning one worthwhile. The Ram 1500 Big Horn Built to Serve we ended up with was $55,000, and came with every option I could possibly want in a truck.

I also think anything that looks normal (i.e. not hideous like the Rivian) would help to boost EV sales as well.
The Rivian looks like a work of art when compared to the Cyber Truck. The Cyber Truck is hands-down the most hideous looking vehicle I have ever seen, bar none.

Last August dealers were still adding stupid ADMs on Lightnings (I saw as much as $64k markup on a $60k truck). It was stupid. BUT they do NOT "Start" at $100k. They start at $50k and have the $7500 credit available to them.

And the "charging station" at home is simply a 240v Nema 14-50 outlet that the factory 240v cord plugs into. You can have one installed for less than $200.
