Ford recently lowered prices on the 2023 MY inventory of Mach-e's to clear them out and now it is releasing the 2024 models, which turn out to have numerous upgrades.
The rear motor is lighter and more powerful (+100 lb-ft of torque) - improving acceleration (down to 3.3 secs 0-60 in the most potent trim - faster than the Model Y performance). Range is up by +20 or +10 miles, depending on trim, due to motor efficiency improvements. DC fast-charging rate has been enhanced, with the extended range model charging from 10%-80% in 36 mins versus 45 mins previously.
The GT gets access to Brembo brakes and Magne-ride suspension on a lower priced trim.
And of course Ford started the industry landslide last year to offering NACS compatible charging access to the Tesla network.
Kudos to Ford for keeping their foot on the accelerator with their EV programs.
I’ve become very interested in the Lightning. But there is no way I am leaving Tesla until the charging issues are 100% settled.
I like the fact that the first generation Lightning stuck with a conventional pickup truck design - that's been working pretty well for a long long time, so there is proven utility there. Ford hasn't revealed many details, but their next generation electric pickup (code-named T3) is supposed to be planned for a late 2025 release, which really isn't that far off now. And by then the charging networks will be better sorted as well.

A coworker of mine has one and you can't hardly tell it's an EV until he opens the front hood and nothing is there. Anther coworker has a Ford Hybrid pickup and that thing sounds like a space ship when he pulls into the parking lot...it whines but I'm not sure how much of that can be heard inside the cab.
