What happened with that in Europe and the US?
US doesn’t have socialist government. We are capitalist. Also, US has healthy number of immigrants each year so declining birth rate doesn’t affect the country that much.

Countries are also to blame to certain extent. In Sweden for example, locals have no intention of assimilating with migrants themselves. Migrants would come in, and they would basically be forced to live in segregated areas with other migrants since locals have no intention of integrating with them. Migrants wouldn’t be able to find the jobs from locals. And the jobs they would find would be low paying manual work that locals aren’t willing to do anyways. And then in the end locals would blame migrants for not assimilating and draining resources?

Countries should be able to decide whom they want to bring in. They can bring in educated people with college degrees like what US has done in measured numbers each year.

We have a combination of socialist & capitalist going for us.... and have since the days of FDR.
The current clowns in charge are clearly pushing it to the socialist side, with the approval of our ill-educated younger generations.
That will not end well.

Then why have the Swedish, German, etc. governments let in so many migrants they have no use for, only to mostly isolate and ignore them them? Just to look "humane"? It makes no sense. I don't think most locals have had much choice in the matter, which is another reason they might dislike the migrants.

Because so few of the migrants have advanced formal education or the ability or willingness to learn higher job skills, what's wrong with them doing low paying manual work? Most of my ancestors who came to the U.S. in the 1800s did so. My husband and I did so ourselves until we finished college. Good honest work of any kind is honorable. Unfortunately, most migrants have proved incapable or unwilling of performing even simple manual work.

What do you make of the migrants' excessive violence and sexual assaults? Surely you don't blame the victims? Don't you think this might be another reason locals don't want to be around migrants? I don't see Buddhists and Hindus wreaking havoc in large numbers in their host countries.

Your last sentence makes sense. The doctor who saved my husband's life is from Egypt. An extremely bright engineer I worked with was from Nigeria. Every person from India that I know personally has contributed greatly to their host country. My favorite Middle East restaurant is owned and run by two Moroccans (who actually serve North African food).

The U.S. has its own problems with a huge overflow of migrants on the southern border, but that subject belongs in another thread.

I appreciate the thought that goes into your posts, at least the ones I've read on this thread. Do you have any ideas on how to fix the migrant conundrum that European governments got themselves into since 2015?

Another privileged American boy who doesn't know what he's talking about.

If white people and their countries are so racist, why do so many non-whites desperately want to come to those countries?

I ask this as a pro-immigration "liberal" legal immigrant from another immigrant country (Canada) and a child of immigrants from one of those "white supremacist" European countries you're talking about.

In short these days in large numbers white people don’t immigrate. But brown people do.
That's right. Why do you think that's the case? And why do you think brown people typically want to migrate to white countries, even though those countries are "white supremacist"?

I mean, that's like me, a "liberal," educated, professional woman who calls herself a "feminist," wanting to migrate to, say, Saudi Arabia. That would be be pretty stupid, wouldn't it?

Ahh. Since I grew up in one of the most diverse cities in the world (Toronto) with a huge Asian/Chinese immigrant population, now I understand.

Majority White=white supremacy?

Does majority Asian= Asian supremacy?

How many non-Asians do Asian countries allow into their countries? And how do you think the average Chinese or Indian would respond if tens/hundreds of thousands of Africans or Middle Easterners entered China or South Korea or India, en masse?

Knowing very well how shockingly racist Asian people can be, I already know the answer to my question.

The well-intended come for the opportunity to better their lives through assimilation and work. The ill-intended come for benefits that are "owed" them because of colonialism/racism/"refugee" status/etc. (take your pick).

Welcome to the U.S., Newdixiegirl! Thank you for being a legal immigrant. We want people like you here!

Thanks.

I've been here 24 years, though, and a citizen since 2006. For better or worse, the US is my country now, and I get tired of people suggesting that it (or any other predominantly white, immigrant country) is "racist" (the word "racist" is so overused and misused, it has lost its meaning).

The US (and most other predominantly white countries) aren't perfect, but they're among the least racist countries in the world.

Hence the reason tens of millions of non-Europeans want to come here. And I suspect that even those who complain about "white supremacists" know this. There's no possible way they couldn't, because the countries that most of them come from are, without a doubt, far, far more racist/bigoted.
