Thanks mnnita, I appreciate your following up with my OP. Actually, I did come back to my OP after asking questions once or twice, so it's not "never." I don't come back to the OP often because I have nothing else to add, so this is why this happens. Yes, I am curious about living in NWA, as well as another area in TN, so I'm doing more research and asking questions on this two locations before making the final move. Oh well, it is a public website and I can understand people can have a tendency to become paranoid and suspicious.

Oh I will add one more thing in regards to the LGBT concerns: our foster daughter and her wife who live in Portland, Or are planning on relocating to Bella vista or Bentonville when they retire in a few years. They love this area, have us and our family as we are the only real family they have and also have friends here that love them. Add the lower cost of living and they can't wait to move. The sexual orientation doesn't enter the picture at all as far as they are concerned. They are not concerned one bit.

Thanks!
I've never noticed any gay co-workers or people having any issues with anyone, or anyone having any issues with them, but I am not a part of that community, nor do I go to their functions/events/etc. so I don't have any perspective from that vantage.

Hello....I have been finding in my research that Eureka Springs is very welcoming for Gay/Lesbians and wondered about the cost of living. My spouse and I are going to look into relocating to Arkansas to be closer to her family and I want to live in the mountains. Are there many smaller houses for sale in the town itself? Does the town have public water and sewer facilities? Are people accepting of open displays of affection between same-sex couples such as hand holding? I have lived my whole life in New York State and am a bit apprehensive about moving to Arkansas, so any input from folks residing there would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, Eureka Spring has public water as most of AR does.

as for the best place to live for those who have a different life style, for lack of a better phrase, Eureka Springs is very welcoming, but there are other parts of NWA that are as well. Fayetteville comes to mind. Now, when it come to public display of affection, most of us have come a long way in recent years. We no longer are surprised or upset when we see people showing their love for each other as long as it is in good taste and not flaunting.

My guess, for what you are seeking Eureka Springs would be certainly be a place to, at least visit and see for yourself.
