Have a safe and successful trip: Looks like you are going to hit pretty nice weather this weekend.

UPDATE: Hello, everyone, and thank you again for the insight into life in NW Arkansas. I visited a few weeks ago but waited to post my opinions and more questions until I processed everything! First impressions: I walked out of the airport, and for the first time in well over a year, I could breathe!!! For those that don't know, I live in Far Northern California that was severely impacted by the HUGE Carr and Camp fires last year. My lungs have been damaged, and we have chosen NW Arkansas to move to in a few months.

My second impression is that the region is BOOMING!! I think the city planning for infrastructure must be excellent because the roads are well maintained, and the amenities are fabulous!! I fell in love with the house we wanted to buy, but the area around it was full of manufactured homes and trailers, which was difficult for me. I suppose it's the same in many unincorporated regions that there is a mixture of houses and those who live in them. The lots were clean, and it was tranquil, but we felt that I should explore other areas.

My third impression is that Bentonville is a sweet town with a gorgeous downtown area. I think there are many beautiful parts of Rogers as well. I wanted to explore beyond these two towns and decided to drive up to Bella Vista, where I seriously fell in love. WOW, what a lovely, lovely area!! I like the highlands area in the west more than the eastern part of the community, but all of it is inviting. It's not that far away from Bentonville, and some of the houses I viewed are only 2 miles to the WalMart Supercenter in Jane, Missouri. The lakes are gorgeous, and I could imagine how lovely it will be in the Spring and Fall!! Also, there are many homes for sale that are nice and affordable. My husband and I struggled with the POA, but from speaking to people who lived there, it doesn't sound like a terrible group trying to upset all the homeowners. I only wish I could have thanked Nmnita while I was there for the great advice!!

We are pulling up new listings in Benton County each day, and I will go back in a month or so with a group of homes for sale that we can tour. I have the best realtor-oh, my goodness!! She is the perfect person to sell homes! I'm going to give her a shout out: Pat Doss from ReMax out of the Bentonville office. She listens to her clients, and she's honest!! She is such a treasure!!

Thank you so much to everyone for the honest opinions and advice. I will be posting quite a bit more as it gets closer to our move! Jennifer

Congrats. What I big difference the expansion of I-49 makes in perceived infrastructure planning. Before it was expanded to six lanes, traffic was pretty bad for a metro area of this size. Lots to like about this area and I'm sure you'll be happy wherever you end up.

we all look forward to your progress and I, personally am glad you got up to BV Now you can understand how we enjoy living here. I have often said it is the best of 2 worlds. Somewhat rural and yet urban life is just a short distance away. We too, fell in love with Bella Vista the minute we say it, hubby particularly.

Hope you had a very happy holiday and keep us posted.

Thank you so much, everyone, for the kind words of encouragement!! nmnita, thank you for the great advice. I went up to BV with thoughts of what you said about it on this forum. I am so glad I did because, as you said, it has a rural feel but is very close to great amenities! It's funny how we Californians have resigned ourselves to poor planning and terrible roads-lol! The roads, infrastructure, and many different types of development speak volumes about the city planners!! I was also impressed by the many medical facilities in the area!

nmnita, thank you for the great advice!! I will keep everyone updated about our move!! I too hope that you are enjoying the holidays!! Jennifer
