We love it there too. I don't understand any of the negativity. If I didn't like a location, I just wouldn't live there unless I had no choice. To each their own, but we are looking forward to making Cape Coral and Florida our home for many reasons. Stay well and be happy.

I spent many winters in FL and it is not a place I would ever consider as the best, oppressive humidity, traffic, crime, building on every inch of land. IMO Kauai HI is my favorite.

I Have NOT lived in The Sunshine Land since Halloween Day 1973 If was NOT happy here, here being the Suncoast between 73 and 1988, SW Miami since 2 yrs before ANdrew.

You are in a great Area, I love all beaches on the Gulf side between Marco Island and Tarpon Springs. the ones west of Tally really are all Alabummer User Beaches, and they do not tickle my fancy and they are way too far..

I love the East Coast Beaches specially outside of St Augustine, they can have the Rest, I give permission.

Florida is Wonderful and No Matter Where You Go you always find people complaining, that is human nature and you just turn those negative people OFF and ON with your business here.

Enjoy Our Shangri-La . . . We love to see HAPPY people here..The rest can ALL go and move to KABUL, believe you me, no one will miss you !!!! .

It’s not being negative, at least speaking for myself, it’s that the OP seems really ignorant. “puts all other places to shame”. A comment like that normally is meant to be sarcastic but the way OP sounds it’s like he truly believes it. That’s such a non sense comment to make subjective or not.

There are many places that put SWFL to shame and many places SWFL puts to shame.

Funny when my wife and I were in Kaua,i I remember looking out to the mountains while sitting in our lanai. I told her I felt like we were back in florida with all the familiar vegetation in the yard minus the mountains. I love my slice of paradise here in flordia. I could not imagine living in a place I could not enjoy year round. Instead of complaining about it on the internet to all the ones who do, I would be searching for my slice of heaven and move.

True that, that's why they have moving companies.
