Same principle as the oil rig............
I just don't get that this isn't an accident that has a beginning and an end. Oil doesn't spill and then get cleaned up. this is affected the food chain from the bottom right on up to us humans.

We could have oil on our Florida beaches for years because of this. What do you think that will do to the economy. Can't you open your mind up and see the bigger picture of what is happening here. and this will probably not be the last accident.
Sorry, to insult you but you have a very narrow view and possibly are unable to grasp the enormity of this.

Ruby, I'm queasy about drilling in the gulf too. If we could stop all the other counties from drilling maybe I would agree with you. This rig was operated by the British oil company. If we stop drilling , every drop of the oil will still be taken by other countries.

Riko, you have to get with the plan

offshore all manufacturing and energy sourcing and phone/internet services, turn the economy into a consumption economy that only exports IOUs, and the slavery of the US will be complete

the China will start moving east, Chavez will start moving on his neighbours, Russia will start moving south

.nobody will have to worry about any of that because we will destoy our environment and that will be our demise.

Instead of being so nationalistic countries need to work together to protect the planet as one. there needs to be a governing body to set regulations pertaining to the environment like the united nations except it needs to work.

I know it's too much to expect from all the ignorant, greedy, inept world leaders.

If there is a God he or she should arrive and put humankind out of it's pathetic misery.

kro, what does that have to do with letting other nations take the oil that is in our backyard? I'm all for restoring our manufacturing base if that is what you mean.

We do need to stop them.

Have you seen the size of the oil slick? It is mind boggling and growing.

If we destroy the ocean we will cease to exist.

Putting the United Nations in control of the United States, in any way, is the stupidest idea I have ever heard. Most of the countries in that organization hate our guts and only want to bring us down. Many of our current leaders seem to hate our own country too. Many of our people do too. They are our biggest enemies that could cause our downfall.
As bad as this spill is, I doubt that it will be our demise

Only 35 percent of Florida voters support drilling near the shores of their state, and 55 percent are now opposed, according to a Mason-Dixon poll released Friday.
That's a dramatic reversal from August 2008, when 61 percent supported drilling in a similar poll.
Opposition is especially strong in southeast Florida, where only 25 percent support drilling and 60 percent oppose it.

The Florida poll showed the tide running against drilling in every region except North Florida, where 47 percent support it and 43 percent are opposed.
Younger voters, African-Americans, South Floridians and Democrats are especially opposed.
And a gender gap showed up in the poll.
Men were divided almost evenly, with 44 percent in favor of drilling and 49 percent opposed. Only 26 percent of women support drilling, and 61 percent are opposed.

Amen, sadly they are already in control of many things that directly affect us. These things have been done quietly, over the years, and become"law" that cannot be easily reversed because they are "treaties", (read "contractural commitments") with other countries. The "Codex Alimentarus" is a great place to start your research on some of this. It's beginnings were in the mid '60's, some fourty years later it's tentacles are firmly entrenched.......

Yes, they are. The younger the voter, the less freedom they have ever experienced, and have been indoctrinated into a certain direction by the public school systems, that get their cirriculum, in a large part, from the UN.

In and of itself, it wont be the demise, but just another tool, or opportunity that the PTB will utilize to further the demise. Isnt it Rham that is credited with the statement that a "crisis is a terrible thing to waste"?
NONE of that's a good thing.....right?

As far as that poll that tommy has linked to...of course polls are a snapshot of where people's thoughts are at any given moment. Three months from now, IF the price of fuel is at $4.50 a gallon, those numbers will more than reverse themselves, and everyone will be screaming "drill, baby drill" once again.

But in the meantime, laws will be passed saying we can never drill offshore again, because said law was passed while an ongoing crises was taking place. In effect "we the people" will have hamstrung ourselves again, by being manipulated with the "hegelian" tactics the PTB uses against us all the time.

The fact that this crisis is occuring at a time when fuel prices have been generally escalating, and they can still get polls that show people are preferring to limit drilling shows that their agenda is moving forward. This is a classic, and blatant example of "air frame shock testing"................

Looks like a lot of mumbo jumbo there, but if one cares to research those things in italics(and the "codex"), it may begin to make shocking sense to you. But be careful, it may even shock you awake.

Aw well, just another little glimpse into the dark side of YC's mind.........

Yachtcare may have spoken too much.......

For those of us that don't believe in a world government the only defense is to minimize the United Nations. That can be done by cutting back on the US portion of funding.
United States Funding for the UN

"The U.S. is assessed 22% of the UN regular budget and 27% for UN peacekeeping operations. For many years, due to Administration and Congressional underfunding, the U.S. fell well behind in its treaty-obligated payments to the UN. But in June 2009, Congress voted for and the President signed legislation that erases all the debts that had been building over the last decade".

At least we know who supports giving up our sovereignty to the world government.
