On September 16 I received an email from Att (first page is attached) saying going forward I would be paying $100.84 per month for the year.

On October 21 I received a bill for $161.67 for the next month.

I called them and they said the best they could do was $139.?? for my same service.

I tried everything but they stuck to the $139.??

Is there a way I can force them to honor the $100.84 offer?

You probably can't. Down at the bottom it states that the figures are estimates. Estimates are not binding unless written into a contract.

I have gone after AT&T successfully, but my situation was much more clear cut.

What is the actual breakdown and time period of the 161 invoice?

I don't see any actual promise there. Just some wiggle words and no firm guarantee on the price.

You could shop around and see if you can do better by switching service provider (or did you sign a new contract based on their implied rates?)

Not forcing them, but maybe try posting on their FB page, etc ?

Maybe cancel and go Internet only?

IIRC youtube TV (not the same as youtube) costs about $60 a month and is similar to basic cable.

Two things that come to my mind:

1) That doesn't look legitimate. It looks terribly designed and since I am in Marketing I have a good eye for what seems legit. If it was an email, what was the sending address?

2) Does the price you're quoting for your monthly cost include taxes and fees? Keep in mind that their offers don't include those fees. Taxes and fees in IL cost me around $58 a month, so even though my monthly cost is $105, I really pay closer to $162 a month.

Check out your false/misleading advertising and information laws in your region. You need to report this. Start with levelling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. BBB will mediate the complaint for you (in my own experience). It's possible ATT will settle with you to avoid a bad rep with BBB. However you might want to ensure that other people don't end up getting treated like you are. Go on your social media accounts and post there that you are looking for other people who are having the same problem. Its worth it if you can get some support that way. Report it to the police. This all should not cost you anything. It's the prosecutors office that should act on it.

This. As a long time ATT customer, the month after you switch plans is usually all fouled up with prorations, activation fees and all sorts of nonsense.

I hate doing business with them, but they’re the best I can get around here for what I want.

I left ATT for Xfinity mobile this month after well over 20 years of being with them. Ever since they were BellSouth. I asked them to do better on my two lines and they said I had the cheapest they offered at $130. Xfinity is $60 a month. I should have done it years ago
