Actually, it is probably better to find a friend who is doing a lot of canning and ask her to show you how to do it. Several of my wife's aunts have 200 hours of canning experience a year for 40+ years. They tend to know a lot more than many of the people on YouTube.

County extension offices can also help.

My response was about making gaskets... not about the actual canning. However for those who wish to know about canning the best video's to watch will be https://roseredhomestead.com/

She is very well educated (PHd) and has been doing this for a very long time. She actually affirms different processes with data and science.

You can thank me later

Sorry try again.

I sure dont see any videos on homemade c-type gaskets for pressure cookers. You must pay for that extra bonus fantasy island youtube channel. Cause you sure didnt link to any video or even mention how its done. Perhaps you typed before your brain worked and now you are embarrassed at your flub?

About only homemade way doing it I could possibly see is cutting length tubing down middle and then gluing the ends to make continuous loop. But sorry the consumer adhesive to accomplish this and have it hold under pressure, doesnt exist.

Flat gaskets easy if you have the flat material and exacto knife or even pair scissors. BUT,forming a c-shape continuous round gasket require special tooling to mold it.

You buy in length cut to the right size on a bevel and glue together. Bevel or chamfer cut gaskets are used in high-performance sealing applications where the demanding requirements justify a higher cost compared to a square cut.

Listen for y'all about gaskets, if you never made them before I get where you don't understand the process... but it's not rocket science and it's done ALL THE TIME.

I'm done.
