I paid for 2 months, was seeing a lot of trees as sources. Agree, no thanks.
Sometimes they're useful though, in two ways.
First, they can fill out branches with more recent relatives, and add det, ails you might not otherwise find. OTOH, do we want a tree full of distant cousins?
Second, some of them can give us hints for further research, where we can actually verify the information.
a thing i notice is, on mine, they listed one person as parents( about four generation back) but they are not, maybe aunt, cousins, reason why i know, I have a contact that direct from that parents, and our y are no way close, two different males so Im related to that past, but not as a direct
I can't understand why Ancestry can't catch obvious errors in dates the way genealogical programs do. For example, if one enters a mother born after or impossibly close to the children, the program sends an alert. Also sends an alert if father dies before children are born. Very often that means "look for a second marriage". I use Reunion for Mac.
I think a lot of this is down to untrained people using Ancestry and their ads which show everything being so easy.

It does, but only if you are manually inputting the data. If it's auto adding data from records as you attach them, it doesn't.

That's interesting. They need to fix that because I see many many obvious errors.
