My mom's oldest sister is married to a man whose maternal grandmother is still alive. She's currently 99 years old and is due to turn 100 in a few months. My mom's sister and her husband have three grandchildren already, and my uncle's grandma has many other great-great-grandchildren.

Have you ever met anyone who's lived to see their great-great-grandchildren?

My great-grandmother. She was 100 when she died, and my cousin had a 5 and 3 year old sons by that point that she saw on several occasions. She was blind and in a wheel-chair by then.....but her mind was strong.

My mom is 87 and has 12 great great grandkids. We are five generations at this point in time.

My grandmother died just a few months shy of her 100th birthday. She had something like 30 great-great-grandchildren when she died.

Great-grandmothers and great-grandchildren are fairly common, but great-greats are more rare because it requires many generations to marry very young. This is how it looks if each generation has children at 18-years-old: A 20-year-old has a 38-year-old mother, a 56 year old grand mother, a 74-year-old great-grandmother, and a 92-year-old great-great-grandmother. If that 20 year old had a 2-year-old, that 2-year-old would have a great-great-great-grandmother.

Yes. My great grandmother was also a great-great grandmother, due to a few teen births lol! I think she lived to be about 95.

My great-grandmother was 101 when she died. My son was 11. He never met her (we lived in AZ, she lived in MA) but they both knew of each other.
I think she had at least 20 great-great grandkids - most of them did know her.

My grandmother came close to meeting a gg grandchild, but my cousin's daughter miscarried twice. Grandma is turning 91 next week, so there's still a chance for her.
