Yup, we're getting midrised to death. Ugh

What's wrong with midrises?

When they complements high-rises, nothing. When 98% of your skyline consists of them, everything. Our city leaders are collectively afraid of heights.

There are many great cities without anything over 12 stories like DC. Greenville is a smaller city. We'll get them when the time is right. My friend is on county council. They didn't want to block the view of downtown when coming in from Church Street.

Either the City of Greenville or Greenville County have severe tunnel vision focusing solely on low rises and mid-rises and lacking confidence for high rises. Concerns about not having vacant space downtown for development and under-utilizing usable space for low rises and mid-rises become common.

A 10 story building especially if it’s office related on this site should look really good due to the high elevation. Not saying that’s going to happen but I know one of the renderings had a hotel that height at least.

The new federal courthouse, office building at Camperdown, and apartment building at Camperdown should help with the height problems downtown also.

It’s definitely inching up as time goes on. Would love a couple taller buildings though and a Reno of the Landmark building.

I wouldn't say it has a height problem. Height comes when it's needed as it should. They just don't see a need for it yet obviously. I don't think height should be built just for egotistical purposes even though I'd eventually like to see some height too.

I disagree and DC has a law that nothing can be higher than the Washington Monument. Every major city in the US can easily be identified by their skyline. Yes, Greenville city proper is only 70k, but our metro is over 1.3million, we should have a skyline that represents that. The "time is right" now. How would taller buildings "block the view" when it's already blocked until you get on the bridge anyway which is past county square? Your friends excuse doesn't pass muster.
