And since Sinclair is the host broadcaster, both WLOS and WMYA have continued to function all along with the new standard.

Your best choice for Super Bowl viewing will be the NextGen broadcast if you have a compatible TV or receiver. The tuner must be upgraded to receive ATSC 3.0 signals. The telecast will be on FOX, which is WHNS channel 21, FOX Carolina in the Upstate. On some tuners it will be tuned as channel 121.1 . On Samsung TVs it will be channel 21.1 with the NextGen logo.
Because the NextGen signal has expanded video bandwidth, the picture quality will be better than the normal 21.1 current standard, which also has numerous subchannels detracting from the video signal.
The FOX streaming app or certain cable or satellite services may provide an improved viewing option, as long as it is a direct FOX feed and not WHNS retransmitted, which will be compressed. The national telecast from FOX will be filmed in 1080p resolution upconverted to 4K.
From Charlotte, they will temporarily increase the bandwidth on the NextGen signal from WJZY on 146.1 which will provide an even better video option. However you need to be closer to Gaffney to receive it, as their Nextgen signal is not as strong as the main 46.1 signal which covers Spartanburg and larger portions of the Upstate.
