2.6" of rain since midnight here in Tigerville. We got almost 3/4" yesterday. We haven't had the A/C on yet, but our house is super insulated. I open the windows at night, then close them in the morning to keep the 'coolth' in. Most years, we cut the A/C on sometime in May.

My gardens are loving the weather, except for the okra, which loves the heat. It's growing... slowly.

Little River Park in Laurens became Big River Park and they closed it.

Im real surprised the guessers actually got this right. That park is known to flood.

Does the Laurens Plaza still flood? I was considering a business there some years ago, but one of those buildings had flooded in the past. They were considering some flood control measures but I don't know if anything was changed.

I thought it was later than that? I remember it flooding.. And it seems it was Food Lion that was over there and after it flooded, they moved across the street and Winn Dixie revamped or rebuilt and moved in there?

I was thinking it was more towards 80 or 81

Hold up! I dont know if this will work or not:

https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...VA&oe=64BC04A6

This was in the late 70s. After WD moved, it sat vacant for years. Originally Food Lion was where the courthouse is now, that and Roses, Eckerds and Pic-N-Pay. Foodlion remodeled the old WD, and them eventually moved out and Roses Express moved it. Im not sure on the timelines on all of that, but I do know the last BIG flood was in the late 70s, and there has been minor flooding even after flood control means were put in place.

Watching soon to be Idalia in the Gulf for additional rain impacts later this coming week. At least it’ll be cooler out there!

Just randomly dropping in to say that as a TX transplant, this summer has been a 100% dream. We had maybe ONE day of 95-97 degree temps here in TR. We have hiked and biked and taken evening walks and enjoyed being outside.

Some are saying it was a hotter than normal summer.
Some are saying it was milder than normal?

IDK but it was lovely for us.

--Signed, a Texan who is used to 100+ degree temps all day every day in the summer.
