Hi group

Our daughters are moving to Taylors in a few weeks. What cell phone provider would you recommend for best service and cost?

Thanks for your help

Same for Verizon.
You pay a bit more but worth it.

I’ve had slightly better coverage with Verizon over T-Mobile but in general likely any of the big 3 should work. Plus if cost is a factor nearly any of the 3rd party companies use their lines or are owned by the big 3 anyways (ie: company(who’s signal they typ run on): Visible(Verizon), Spectrum(Verizon), Mint Mobile(T-Mobile), Metro(T-Mobile), Boost(AT&T/T-Mobile), StraightTalk(mix of all the big 3), etc)

We had Verizon for years and were mostly pleased but the price drove us away. We switched to T-Mobile Essentials and don't really notice any difference. T-Mobile offers MLB.TV to its customers for free every season. I like that perk.

I think if I were to change today I might go with Metro instead.

Consumer Cellular. They use AT&T’s towers. It really depends on location. Where I live Verizon coverage is terrible, T-Mobile is slightly better, and Consumer Cellular/AT&T is the best and never drops calls. You can’t beat Consumer Cellular on price.

Thanks for your help! One daughter is on Verizon and I think the other is on Metro so maybe they can just test out which is better.

Gvlgal, where do you live if I may ask? I was thinking of joining Visible by Verizon. I live near Paris Mountain. Fastpitchmom, what did your daughter chose and how has been the service?

r10000

She hasn't switched yet. She's only been there a couple of weeks. She has Verizon right now and is getting more 5G than she ever has. She is thinking of taking Spectrum up on their offer for free for a year. They said they are using Verizon towers so she may give it a shot. If it's no good, she can always get another carrier since it's not a contract.
