Sorry to hear all the negative stories. A gentleman said the following to me a long time ago... "Humor is a sign of civilization", I'd venture to add, "Being kind and considerate to other human beings is also a sign of civilization", many of us seem spoiled.
This is the current fatality link for SC. The 2 with the most currently? Greenville is number 1 in the state and Charleston is number 2. Doesn't add up.
@UpstateJohn, my personal experience of driving downtown has been positive, most drivers slow down...
@furmanpals, the news article link was included in my original post, do you need a pair of large glasses? LoL
Well, if you knew how to put the link on the post so we could simply click on it, that would help. It is not rocket science. This is how it looks when done correctly. https://news.yahoo.com/2-sc-cities-a...100000745.html
I think anywhere you have tourists that are not sure where they are going that they cause traffic problems. And the Greenville area seems to attract them too.
Having traveled just a bit myself I have noted this in many tourist areas. It is certainly nothing new.
The worst driving habits I have noted here are the tailgaters! Many have no concept about reaction time or distances required to stop a vehicle.
I too have been rear ended a few times in my life, totaling one car as a matter of fact. He was drunk, I was at a stop sign and someone stopped, picked me up and helped me chase him down and off the road where I got even with jerk!
Glad I live in Northern Greer and don't have to go into town very often as a retiree!
Yeah, that makes sense, talking about "tailgators and Many have no concept about reaction time or distances required to stop a vehicle.", I don't recall driving license "inspector" pays attention to that, when I got my very first Virginia driving license many years ago... he didn't seem to check on that, maybe it's not a part of key requirements.
What really tick me off is during a storm/heavy rain and at night, some drivers drive just like normal condition, going nuts.

I have not perceived Greenville to have more bad drivers than other cities. I've seen more sudden lane changes in Atlanta and Charlotte, drivers passing on the right while speeding.
My car insurance is cheaper in Greenville than the DC suburbs in Maryland. My parents said insurance is higher in NC than SC.
