Family members called us today with the autopsy results - she passed away from a pulmonary embolism.

I'm hoping her son and boyfriend will feel less responsible because quite possibly nothing could have been done.

well, i agree that possibly nothing could have been done.
PE happened to one of my friends. he retired at 65,
and was dead within 8 months.
sorry for your loss.
