Prime members get high-quality, convenient care from One Medical, including 24/7 on-demand virtual care nationwide and easy-to-schedule office visits at any of One Medical’s hundreds of locations across the U.S.—all while saving $100 on the annual membership fee.
I'm not a Prime member but I fail to see how this is going to work. After they hook you in they start charging more money maybe?
Even for $199 year for non members this price might be interesting to
some.
It probably covers GP stuff, maybe with added help from AI. Wouldn't expect any specialty advices, of course, but might beat "walk-in clinics" sort of places often found at Walmart, CVS, Walgreen etc. where most people are seen by Nurse Practitioner and pay more for the visit.
It's just a well known telemedicine.
Could also cut the waiting time.
Let's see how that evolves.

"Hundreds of locations across the US" = concentrated in only a few states. The closest in-person office to me is 6 hours away. So I'd still have to have a Primary Care Physician near me, and do any in-person medical stuff somewhere other than One Medical. My insurance already covers virtual care at no extra charge and next year my premium will be 0.
Considering the sad fact that despite having the most expensive health care system, the US ranks LAST overall compared with several other industrialized countries on measures of quality, efficiency, access to care, equity, and the ability to lead long, healthy - this might improve at least some factors of the poor outcome.

It will not cover the entire US right away, but is a start, and better than doing nothing.
Even if not you, some people could benefit of it.
I was under the impression, the annual "membership" fee you pay is just to access the One Medical network of care. You are still billed for whatever service provided. That is why they require insurance or private pay for the actual services rendered.
I doubt I'd go to the doctor for the kinds of problems I envision them treating. . . . most things get better given a little time.
