My hairline has receded, as well as an overall thinning on the top. It was frustrating that I no longer have as many options for hair styles. Any time my bangs get long enough that when pulled they can touch the tip of my nose, collectively, my bangs look exaggerately thin and always fall into my eyes.
Back when I was younger I used to be able to have long bangs way past my nose when pulled (my hair is somewhat stiff, wavy/curly) and I used to be able to sweep it back and it would stay put, like a wavy lion's mane. It also used to diffuse midday summer sun from my eyes, like an awning; almost as good as a ball-cap.
Now I keep it about 2-3 inches long all over. It still allows me to have a bit of style.
How does this sound?
I miss having thicker hair because now my head is noticeably cooler/colder, and even before I was cold at least half the year. I could probably have had a warmer head with 1" of hair than I do now at 3" of hair.
Perhaps a "crew-cut" would look good, but I'm a little afraid of how much cooler my head would get. That and even through my 2" of hair, the sun when it hits my scalp can hurt it within 2-5 minutes, even though I never get a sunburnt scalp. Weird, but the hurting skin always goes away within a half-hour indoors.
