Yours is not going away b/c the sac enclosing it is there. It fills up again. Watch the YouTube links for a discussion about it. If a doctor does it, the cyst is gone for good.

I've had a cyst on the right side of my forehead for about two years now? My dermatologist won't do anything about it and a cortisone shot did nothing. Any suggestions?

I was told that is what I have on my back..right above waistline..came up right after I had an epidural ( 26 years ago)..My family doctor took one look at it and said she wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole..so she sent me to a surgeon and said for him to do x-rays ( make sure that it's not grown around my spine) I go to the surgeon and he says " No biggie..I will just cut it out".. No x-rays or nothing..needless to say I still have the cyst ( or whatever it is).. I guess I chickened out..or was just scared because I thought he needed to do further testing before he got knife happy..Doesn't bother me alot..sometimes it will burn and of course with the spot it is in..it does get uncomfortable sitting in a straight back chair.... maybe one day I will have it checked again.. I definitely wouldn't try any home remedies on mine...

Well I'm sat reading this after finally gathering my nerves to teach this cyst a lesson. Here's what happened last night:
I grabbed a large brand new nail that U use to hang pictures, then I soaked it for 5 minutes in Listerine mouthwash. Then I heated it on a candle until it was red hot.
I then got my mind set on the fact that it was a cyst on my face, bare in mind doctor won't do a thing about it, so I had no choice but to do what I did next. Btw I'm 24 and haven't had a shag for nearly 8 months coz of this ugly thing invading my face! So...
I stuck the nail through the 1st layer of skin suprisingly easily but didn't puncture the sack. It bled. So i went again through the same hole but this time it went right in. So i took the nail out and squeezed. It was the most disgusting stuff ive ever seen, bare in mind this cyst was massive. It made me wrench as it shot 12 feet across the bedroom. I kept squeezing unbelievably hard until nothing but blood. I could still feel the sack underneath the skin, empty. Not for long however.
I applied a hot cloth compress against the wounded cyst for at least 45mins, smothered it with iodine and covered with a dressing.
Went to bed.
Woke up to find it is extremely red and sore so its infected and filling up, i am going to walk in centre to show them this is how desperate i am. I will do it over and over until they do something about it. So i will let you know how it goes. King.

You have to get the sac out or it will continue to fill up whether it's infected or not.

I'm not sure why a doctor would not assist? I get cystic acne and my dermatologist injects it with something so it goes away.

my OBGyn doc diagnosed a Cebacious cyst on my breast 1 year ago and sent me to a Dermatogolist who removed it in his office and here comes the horror story...he punctured my saline breast implant as he excised it which caused me to have another implant surgery that "harmless cyst" put me in the hole for $10k and now the SOB is back

Friday morning i woke up to magically find a large swollen (somewhat painful) cyst right between my shoulder blades in the spot you can barely reach. it was'nt there Thursday & somehow happened overnight. its bothersome because you can feel it growing and swelling by the day right in the sweet spot. now Sunday evening its a little painful & starting to make me mad just thinking of that damn thing. earlier today the tips of my fingers felt kindla numbly, so its definately growing & pressuring a nerve (can it restrick bloodflow). I did have a cyst 1once before medically removed more than 10yrs.ago ($150?) a couple inches away from the current cyst on my shoulder blade (can see the scar, the doctor 'Scooped' it out?). tomorrows MLK but Tuesday will definately try-have it removed by a local dermatologist because concerned where its growing atop spine between my shoulderblades. i have no insurance (i'm 46) & am type of guy who will only see a doctor when absolutely nessessary. researched all the gross YouTube cyst removal videos to try & find a way to just do it myself but can't because of its location on my back. my biggest question is how Ancient people from 5000bc-greasy cowboys-turn of the Century grimey immigrants (7000yrs.of history) dealt with removing them from their backs?

Since you don't have health insurance you should call around to your city's free clinics (or sliding fee scale clinics) to see when you can make an appointment. You can ask if dermatologists ever attend the clinics that you call, or if not, when an internal medicine doctor is available.

Sebaceous cysts reoccur despite their location on the body. I tend to get those cysts on my face right before "that time of the month." But they can also occur in men too.

Do not try to remove it yourself. You will most likely give yourself a dangerous staff infection if you use a razorblade or if you try to pick at it and only draw blood from it.

A doctor will have to remove the sac of the cyst if it's really large. because it will reoccur if the sac isn't removed. Here is a video (which is a bit gross) of how a cyst is removed.
Sebaceous Cyst (Abscess) Sac Removal - YouTube

You have no excuse not to go see a doctor about this. Cysts are nothing to fool around with as they can become quite infected if tampered with improperly.
