Last time I was on 288 they were still working on it. Did they finish? Is 288 completely a toll road now or only tolled express lanes?

Tolled express lanes so it’s similar to Mopac. The tolled express lanes though are priced outrageously (around $12-$15 to drive about 10 miles) so it’s just not worth it.

Are those tolls based on traffic / time of day or is it always that high?

I-85 in Atlanta metro was priced about the same when I last lived there. About $13 to get from GA-316 to I-285 during rush hour but as low as $.50 when not congested.

They're variable, but they don't seem to change all that much based on time of day/congestion. I think the absolute lowest I've ever seen it one way between 518 and Holcombe is maybe $6, but I don't drive 288 that direction that much (maybe a couple of times per month).

Tolls vary through the day. They are on a schedule, based on traffic flows, but not dynamic.

They actually vary quite a bit. For example, at the Southbound Toll Gantry at Holly Hall, the toll can be anywhere from $2.00 to $8.46.

Yea their lowest point is still a bit high.

To be fair when I was commuting between Leander and Domain in Austin I was paying about $200 per month in tolls... but for the most part they were unavoidable tolls. I mean, I could have taken access roads at some points but the way they time the traffic signals you're pretty much gaurunteed to get them red everytime you approach one... which is screwed up ...

Is the speed limit higher in the toll lanes?

Same thing I've always been told about toll roads:
"If you don't like them, don't use them"

Uhhhh but now it's problem because it's "above your price range"
Well, there's 1000s of people that feel that way about toll roads
