What???

BTW - how did you infer that I have a son?

No, you are stating a false assertion based on your own limited experience. You don't know ANYTHING about the "overall culture and social environment" of JPII, yet you post a negative generalization of ALL private schools and expect everyone to take that as "anecdotal evidence" of a flaw in JPII. And how have my child's life experiences been "in spite of going to private school?"

Hang on.....

I think the point that Nolefan was trying to make is that you using your experience with your child in a private school as your evidence that it was a wise decision in your situation was no different than them using their experience as their evidence. I didn't see where Nolefan was pointing out any "flaws" in the school as a whole, but more as a "it worked better for me" type of thing.

Honestly it is going to be six of one, half a dozen of another. I received numerous scholarships after high school (public school) as did my wife and neither of us went to a private school. With that being said, whose to say that we would or wouldn't have received a better education if we had both gone to a private school such as one of these being discussed? We just don't have any evidence to back it up.

I think that is the bigger point. It's all going to be opinion in some form or another. Doesn't make any one answer the right or wrong answer. Just different.

NoleFan doesn't need anyone to speak on his behalf, any more than I do.

It just seemed from looking in from the outside that you took great offense to something being read, when I seemed to have read it completely different than you did.

How 'bout we stop going after each other on a chat forum and let this topic rest? OP just asked for some insight and we've turned it into a catfight.

We've all voiced our opinions, OP now has some useful information, and nobody meant any personal attacks... Let's let it rest

I'm sure the OP understands the differences that generally are associated between private and public schools. Comparing two specific schools can be more difficult. JC, just from what I've read hear and looked at the statistics online, is a very good public H.S., just as JP II is a very good Private school. If we were comparing JP II to one of the less performing highschools in Huntsville, the decision would be far more obvious, assuming the OP had the finances for a private school.
