Capone had houses all over. There are some in Illinois, too.

Default Yes Capone was active on Lake Shafer in Monticello Indiana

My family used to own a house on E. Quiet Water Court on Lake Shafer. I can confirm that Al Capone did in fact spend quite a bit of time on Lake Shafer as he used to visit my old cottage often per our neighbors. They even had pictures in their living room with him and them hanging out at the lake front. Our old house used to be a woman’s brothel prior to my grandmother purchasing it. I used to always ask my parents why there was a big red light up on top of a large post in the middle of the yard. After my dad passed away, my family decided to sell the house and unfortunately since I was still in college I couldn’t get a loan for it. Yes, I am and probably always will be extremely upset that we let that place go to another family (the new owners tore it down and built something else).
