Funny joke, but it's actually ~much~ more than that.

Weddings are a ~huge~, multi-million dollar industry.
My mother was in the biz.

Everyone in retail and the service industries would stand to prosper: from jewelry stores, to evening wear (gowns and tuxes), to photographers, to caterers and muscians.

If one really wants to preserve the "sanctity of marriage" then why not just outlaw divorce???:

Don't like Indiana?

Please leave. California and THEIR broken-down failed fiscally insane morally-corrupt backward mutant racist policies eagerly await you....

I LOVE Indiana and I like and fully support the efforts of our people in the capitol.

I have ~never~ been in a PP clinic that provided abortions. Ever. In the three states I have lived in as an adult.

PP does MORE to prevent abortions than any other organization I can name. WTH???

I'm beginning to think we need a "travel grant" program in IN...so that people can get out and about once in awhile???

Don't get me wrong...IN is a nice state and alll, but there is a whole big wide fabulous world out there!!!

Don't be so....afraid! It won't bite.

Also, since we should be problem-solving here:

What are YOUR personal plans to grow the economy in IN?

How do you propose to attract and retain talent (brainpower) in the state?

What does IN have to offer business that other mid-west states do not???

Time to put on our thinking-caps folks. Let's see if we C-D peeps can acutally out-think our brothers and sisters in the state-house!

Don't you think I realize that?

I don't know that outlawing divorce is the answer. There are clearly cases in which divorce is justified. I'd rather they make it harder to get married. Maybe if folks have to go through more hoops to get married they'll ensure the effort is for the right person.

Also the younger the average age of first marriage, the more likely it will turn into a "starter marriage." Statistics prove this out.
