I believe if we want to elicit an opinion about a subject, especially a sensitive one, it is best to frame that question in a non-combative, neutral tone. This question may be valid, but not as it is framed.

I might have approached the query and how I responded differently if it had merely asked, "How do Jews or those of the Jewish faith feel about Christmas?"
