Looking for suggestions. I've tried a bunch (Ponak's, Maragarita's, Panzon's, Jalapeno's, Taqueira, Sol Azteca, El Patron, Baja 600), but I haven't found my favorite place yet. They all seem pretty much the same to me. I'm looking for a place that stands out.

I'll take suggestions for Tex-Mex as well as authentic Mexican food.

Rancho Grande is good. They have places in Platte County, Liberty, Platte City, and Blue Springs.

A lot of people like Manny's which is downtown a few blocks from Crown Center.

I will definitely have to try these. I am going to be missing my Mexican food when I move in about 30 days.

Probably my favorite.

I think I have tried every mexican and tex mex place in the metro. KC has plenty to choose from (authentic/texmex/chains etc) and it will compare to what's in Arizona.

Chelly's Cafe, a family-run place on the south end of Waldo, at 85th and Wornall, is absolutely delicious, and the people who run it are incredibly nice. It's not anywhere near the well-known strips of Mexican food in KC, so it's kind of a tucked away hidden gem. Huge, delicious portions, and not expensive. I found it because we live in the neighborhood, and I actually prefer it to any of the places I've been on SW. Before I discovered it, Taqueria Mexico downtown on the Blvd. was my go-to place, but we haven't gone back since.
