My memory of a Patricia Boydston being 15 years of age must not be the same murder. I believe this lady lived at Robin Hills Apartments off 2nd Street in Lee's Summit, MO. I don't think there was a body discovered discovered. If memory is correct the husband/ex-husband is the person behind the murder. Has anyone heard about this murder?

Have either one of the posters seeking info. attempted seeing if there are any records available through the Jackson Co. Sheriff's Dept.? Or, through the microfilmed newspaper archives at the KC library downtown?

Patty and I were best friends from kindergarten on. She remains to this day, my best friend. Although until now I never knew the name of the person who had taken her life. I only know that I miss her still...

I was looking into this murder as well. Patty sat beside me in history (Mr. Murphy, the alcoholic) and one day she wasn't there. I remember that someone told me she was found in a stream in West Belton by a search dog. After that, no one in Belton was allowed to walk too far alone at night. Does anyone else remember this?

Patricia Boydston was murdered by Charles Luther Locke on June 8, 1976. Locke lived across the street from the Boydstons. He was allowed to plead out to not guilty by reason of insanity after the West Virginia police treated him as an adult - he was 17 - his older brother was 19.

He was eventually released and went on to rape and murder his brother's wife's grandmother in Grandview. He is in prision in Missouri.

Again, just going to reiterate that this thread was posted by my ex, who inadvertently posted under my log-in instead of his own, about a zillion years ago. I personally have no interest one way or another in a crime that happened in a town I used to live in with him, nor am I "a true crime fan." Just for the record.

Was one of the names Carl or Karl? My aunt was friends with Patty and she always said it wasn't Patty's boyfriend that she was pregnant by him but he didnt kill her. That "Carl" that was in with the missing links had something to do with it. They questioned her about it when her body was found.
