Has anyone heard of Wind River community outside of Lenoir City? My dreams of retiring to Tellico are hitting reality. We may not be able to afford it the way the prices are jumping. We are not poor but not rich

Yes, Wind River is expensive. So is Rarity Bay compared to Tellico Village. Costs are high right now -- who knows if they will go up of stay about where they are but my suspicion is that they will continue rise. All building costs from pouring concrete to installing the countertops have risen this past year.

Radlady,
I'm not sure what you are looking for but Ball Homes and Goodall homes are doing a lot of building around the Knoxville area and seem to be decent homes. I'm not connected with either builder so please do your research. Having said that, one of these two builders is opening up a new development on Hwy 11(Kingston Pike) between Lenoir City and Farragut. If you don't mind a subdivision and want to be close to West Knoxville and the Turkey Creek area, that development looked like an excellent spot to be in.

Yes Radlady -- it would help if we knew a bit more about what you are looking for. A lot of the people (like us) who retire to Tellico Village do so for the amenities.
If you are interested in the area in general but not necessarily living IN Tellico Village that opens up the options significantly.

Recently I found a TV home that we liked. It was a nice house, waterview not dockable not touching the water. The first day it was listed we viewed the home, submitted an offer at full asking price. We did not get the home as the buyer accepted an offer $40,000 over their list price. TV is ridiculous right now.
