Good evening...

I'm going to be heading to Vegas here in the next few weeks - what's a good hotel (don't need a 5 star, just a place I can stay, preferably with decent blackjack tables. I'm not a high roller, so the lower bet minimums are more fun for me, lol!!

Thanks in advance!!

If you are going to stay on the Strip you will probably go to several casinos. If you want cheap, we enjoyed the Excalibur. It was very clean and nice.
Wynn is probably my favorite. Paris was also great for a midprice.
We are from Kerrville and ended up moving here 6 years ago and love it. I'm not a gambler so really can't say on the Blackjack. Probably better luck on Freemont St. If you stay downtown, we stayed at the Golden Nugget and it was nice and a lot of fun.
Enjoy Vegas!

We have a couple of hotels we like that are off-strip or downtown. We don't bother with the mess of the strip except during the day when we want to walk around looking in each casino. We prefer downtown at night.

The Tuscany is a lot of fun and more intimate with an Italian-themed casino. Downtown we like The California which is a cheeky Hawaiian-themed hotel/casino on a corner just a block off the Fremont Street Experience. You definitely don't want to miss that.

Cheap gambling can be had downtown as well. Don't miss Binion's!

I used to go every year on business and stayed at several, since the company paid it was Mirage, Venetian, and Bellagio. The good news is that anywhere on the strip you can walk or take transit to the more entertaining casinos, and stay at a cheaper one like Tropicana and Treasure Island. I agree with Binion for a steak and Fremont Street Experience.

Pick a few and go online to join their loyalty program. I was a member of the Rio before it changed hands and once I rejoined with the new management I have been getting promo emails for free stays, except for the "resort fee' ripoff that has become a part of nearly every LV property. There is also the South Point, on LV Blvd south of the actual strip but only a few minutes away by Uber, etc. Like others said, there is also downtown, the Golden Nugget is really nice but I tend to shy away from downtown anymore. There is also the new off strip casino, The Durango, I know nothing other than it is new.

South Point is pretty far south of The Strip and The Durango is south and west of the Strip. OP, look at a map of the Vegas Strip and then see where South Point and The Durango are located. Uber fares will add up fast if you want to go anywhere on The Strip. Where you stay depends on what you want to do. You can gamble everywhere.

Red Rock is well off the strip to the West. BJ limits are relatively low, the food is very good and reasonably priced, the pool area is superb, and the price isn't too high. There is an adjacent mall walking distance away, and hiking in Red Rock is close by. They have a movie theater and bowling on site.

Silverton is nice, but I wouldn't say it's "barely" off the Strip. It's several miles to where the main part of the south Strip starts, i.e. Luxor, Mandalay Bay, etc.

For a good mid-level hotel that won't break the bank look at either Harrah's or Flamingo. They still have $10 Blackjack, but it's getting harder to find. Casino Royale next door might have it. For less than $10 BJ you probably have to go off-Strip or maybe Fremont St.
