I've heard that it is old, depressed and crime-ridden with a downtown that is blighted. I've also heard that it has beautiful old architecture and churches with a significant Moravian influenced community. Has it maintained the vibe of those old eastern European immigrant communities that used to dot the northeast before everyone moved out to suburbia? How would you describe it?

The downtown is quite nice. Otherwise it is a mixed bag.

ok the one in center city... has horrible parking... but i think there is a garage right near by. the center city factory is more like a playground for kids... they have tons of activities..

I've been to the Crayola factory tour twice. It's great fun and parking is located nearby. The one you want is in downtown Easton:

We go to Crayola all the time. The parking garage is safe...shared with the police department. Lots of people walking around like in a larger city. Only felt a little unsure one time. Homeless looking women peddling candy bars. I declined and they didn't harass. I go alone with three small children.
