I'm still keyed up -- glad I have sleeping pills.

Yes. Though the number says 3.8, somehow I got the feeling that it was higher.

It was shallow, that's why it felt bigger. Depends how close you are to the epicenter, too.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck the View Park-Windsor Hills area of Los Angeles early Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake hit just after midnight at around 12:03 a.m. Wednesday and was centered about 2 miles from Baldwin Hills and Inglewood. It had a depth of 7 miles.

There were no immediate reports of damage in the area.

I did as well and it did feel stronger.

It's going to get really hot by the weekend. I know "they" say that has no impact, however it has happened in the past, I hope not, we have enough going on,

If I had been asleep, I would have slept through it. However, my anxiety has been through the roof and with it, my insomnia. It felt like a sharp jolt that only lasted a couple of seconds, but it definitely freaked me out a little.

I'd never heard of the Newport-Inglewood fault zone.

The 3.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in the vicinity of the Newport-Inglewood fault zone. The Newport-Inglewood fault has long been considered one of Southern California’s top seismic danger zones because it runs under some of the region’s most densely populated areas, from the Westside of Los Angeles to the Orange County coast.

We're less than a mile from the epicenter. I could feel and hear the shock wave approaching -- a rapid series of loud jolts that got stronger and stronger until it slammed into our house. Not the usual rolling feel.

Afterwards I was thinking, "Just what L.A. needs right now. A large quake that forces thousands of people out of their houses in the middle of a pandemic."
