ok......vampires, definitely have NO problem around here, i would recommend that werewolfs stay away? Tooooo many good shots up this way lol. How many entire countries would fit within the same sq. mi. as Maine? Maybe Mr. Moore forgot a few days worth of Metamucil or something...since he forgot that its human nature, not location..that is the beginning and end of this stuff....sighhhhhhhh

found on book review site,
Reviewer and former Maine resident:
February 20, 2006
The Beans of Egypt was a major part of my childhood because when I was 5 years old I was indeed a Bean of Egypt, Maine. The movie was filmed in Washington county Maine, but I don't remember where and it was a great experience. The movie itself is a bit off, but something interesting about the movie and the book is it is based of of Beal Island in Maine, and there is lots of incest there.

Yeah...go visit northern Maine. There's 8 - 9 months of snow. The state bird is the black fly. No jobs, nothing to do...the people are great though. Northern Maine is really so different from southern Maine, they should really be separate states. Anyone who compares it to a book or a movie has obviously never been there. Enjoy!

You could be describing MANY areas of NJ. I've not read Mr. Moore's book and quite frankly, don't wish to. Nothing written here is exclusive to Maine or Maine's rural, small towns. Anyone that would relocate to a community based on a post-card picture is sure to find disappointments.

I think that was one of the Old Town nude bowlers who had too much to drink and got lost on the way home.

LOL, now I know what you meant by "don't bowl in Old Town"....too funny.

And you know that I'd have no problems living in a little vampiric town and having vampire friends...he, he, he.

Default what?!!!!!!!

[b]How could any half educated person think that crime and drugs are more prevalent here than any other "small " town (or big city)? Give me a break . This is totally absurd! Incest?[ huh! I moved back to Maine for the beauty and crime free life and challenge anyone who thinks we have more undesirables then any other states.Hmmmmm......just a thought -why don't these cynics move away/. Our state is by far the best and it's hard working "Mainers" that don't look for the worst in it that keep it going.Hmmm.....is the glass half full or half empty?B]
