Yep, they need receivers big time, and O-line, just like last draft, only maybe now the need is even greater. I don't know how many times I watched unblocked rushers invade the offensive backfield last season - at times it was pitiful. Stevenson and Elliot were both productive at RB, and Henry was productive at TE. After that, the offensive skill positions are pretty thin.

And he did mention the Patriots

He is as old as dirt only two years older than me. It's a shame the most talented are not the best coaches. Why? It's because they are so talented they don't know they perform the way they do. It's instinct not cerebral they can't put it into words.

Plus Brady has a financial interest in the Raiders which he got for way below value. I presume any team and the NFL would take issue with that.

Of course this is speculation at this point - like the idea of Brady returning for an encore year, but interesting in a time of slow Patriots news :-). Curran and Perry talk about the prospects for the Patriots trading their #3 overall pick for multiple first round draft picks.

With the backdrop of the Patriots making preparations to induct Tom Brady into the Patriots Hall of Fame, some old highlights tape of his very first game in the NFL, as a Patriot. The defense certainly did their part, but it was an auspicious start.

In the aftermath of that 1st Super Bowl win, there was a lot of debate about who should start the following season when Drew was healthy. So even after a championship, a lot of people were unsure about his potential. I was firmly in the Bledsoe camp. Brady was a dink/dunk game manager with a "weak arm" early on and Drew had the physical tools you want in a QB. It's a good thing I'm not an executive with the team.

About midway through his tenure with the Patriots, whenever Brady had a slow season, a fair number of local fans and sportswriters, even Bill Belichick himself, figured that Brady was washed up. It wasn't for nothing that Jimmy Garoppolo was hired by Belichick to replace Brady in 2014 - Belichick thought Tom was ready for the old folks home. I think that one important thing that sets Brady apart from a lot of other great quarterbacks over the years, beyond his exceptional leadership and his great football IQ even, is his willpower and his tremendous drive. Tom Brady will not be denied victory, once he sets his mind to it. Just the ultimate competitor.

Well, after all that speculation, the Patriots have used the number 3 overall pick to select Drake Maye from UNC. Maye is a big quarterback at 6ft-4in and 223lb.

"In two seasons as the starter at UNC, Maye threw for 7,929 yards with 62 touchdowns and 16 interceptions."
