Obama had a meeting with Fox News, and begged Rupert Murdoch to stop using Obama's middle name, and Fox stopped using it.
So if anything, Fox News was too weak.
That doesn’t make sense. Every poll shows that Haley would crush Biden in a general election.
The Left doesn't fear Haley, like they fear Trump.
(I think they might have more to fear, than they realize, but that is a different topic.)

I assume this "meeting" happened many many years ago?
Because that is how long they have been weak.
Not terribly weak, but somewhat weak.
The first newspapers, in the U.S. and elsewhere (colonial days and earlier), were published and sold for the purpose of spreading the opinions of the publisher. They often threw in news articles to get people to buy them and read them - a practice that continues to this day.
Just as, today, most TV shows are aired for the purpose of getting people to watch the commercials.
The news didn't "stop being the news". Because it never started.
^This. And when the news is owned and controlled by the very wealthy, often with ties to governments, their bias becomes painfully clear. Kind of interesting to note that public figures started to question and challenge the news during the 60's. Most notably with Malcolm X, who made a speech about how the media is the most powerful entity on Earth and has the power to make an innocent man appear guilty or a guilty man appear innocent. JFK also had a speech about how our federal agencies are employed by a secret society and make secret oaths to eachother and it's up to the journalists to seek out the truth and publicize it for the world to know. And interesting that both were killed in assassinations by the very same people who are still running the government today.
It seems like these days, it's all driven by clicks for views (i.e. profit from advertisers) or pushing an agenda with all these "opinion" pieces. Even the non-opinion articles are leading you to a conclusion that they want you to have.
Nobody straight up reports news without any bias these days.
