I suffer from insomnia . I have suffered from it since I was about 14 years old. i usually cant fall asleep before 4 am. I usually sleep til noon if I dont have to be anywhere.

I tried warm milk but that didnt work.

Counting sheep, but that didnt work

I even tried wearing a mask but I kept waking up thinking I had gone blind.

What can I do??

Liquid Nyquil followed by sex will give you pleasant dreams and a great nights sleep.

I saw a sleep specialist. She recommended exercise, but not late in the day. Avoid caffeine. Yaddah, yaddah, blah, blah, blah.

It sounds to me like your internal clock makes you a night person. Do you have the type of job where you can work later in the day?

The only thing that the sleep specialist said that made any sense to me was if I had been laying there for more than 20 minutes I should get back up. Laying there & thinking about all of the sleep you are not getting makes it worse.

I tried every sleep medication on the planet, and they gave me some pretty heavy narcotics as well. They could not medicate me into sleeping. I tried chiropractic, I tried meditation, I got tired of trying things.

I just accept the fact that some nights I am going to get more sleep than others.

Have you seen a sleep specialist? It may be that you have an underlying medical condition that is keeping you from getting sleep.

I had the same problem for about nine months, and I finally purchased some Valerian and took two capsules about two hours before I should be asleep, and much to my surprise, I fell asleep alot sooner and slept all night. It was amazing. I stuck with it for a couple of weeks and then was able to sleep on my own. It was wonderful!

Are you getting enough exercise? If you haven't exercised and are a high energy type of person, you won't sleep well. Keeping a routine, a regular schedule, will help a lot, too. Good luck!
