Yup, go to your nearest consulate Mex Consulate with birth certificate in hand and get a matrícula consular, IFE voter card or a Mex Passport. Your children may also become Mexican citizens through you.

I obtained my Mexican Passport in December and used it at customs when arriving to Mexico in January and on my connection in Mexico. The airline had told me previously that I could not use my Mexican passport in Mexico because I booked my ticket using my American one. This proved to be untrue.

Dual citizenship is a huge advantage as long as both countries involved are respectable nations worth living in (as is true in this case). Your children may want to live in Mexico one day. They may want to do business there or they may want to buy a vacation home there. I can think of many reasons why someone would want to be a dual citizen of two nations. In short having dual citizenship gives a person advantages and options most of us do not have.
