This happens all the time, every day. This is only unique because the guys doing it were also soldiers. It’s no more interesting or notable than having an iPhone stolen and it turns out to be a servicemember. And considering there are 1.3 million people in uniform it’s naive to think they’re all good people.

Most are probably taken to Mexico and sold to the Cartels there. They need to be in Mexican Prisons.

Some are, most aren't. Huge amounts of guns are purchased in states with lax laws and sold to criminals in states that have crime and strict gun laws.

To be fair, those states with "lax" laws are simply following the federal standard. Most of the people that are purchasing the firearms in the other states are prohibited persons and wouldn't be able to purchase a firearm regardless of the state they are in.

Per the article, each one of those original purchases involved a 4473. https://www.atf.gov/firearms/atf-for...cord-revisions
