I was stationed in wildflecken from 1959 to Feb. 1962 in the 3rd ARB Co D and it was the best experence of my life. Before Motels, Super markets. Traveled a lot and enjoyed every minute there.
I was stationed there in Wildflecken from 1981-1985 at 144th Ord Co Went to Redstone Arsenal Al For School I loved Wildflecken wanted to go back after I went stateside !!!!
My dad and my family were there from 85 to 88. Brings back so many memories of the school, movie theater, and the snow. Wow glad to see so many people want to remember.
Wildflecken from winter 1967 to spring 1969. A very special place. I remember the blizzards would hit and you'd slide sideways in a jeep down the steep main entrance cobblestone road. The little shops had Nuerenburger Liebkuchen and the smell of fresh cinnamon and ginger mixed with the Tannenbaum Christmas music made my two Christmases there unforgettable. Great little discotheques out in Gersfeld Wasserkuppe and Fulda especially during Fasching when the German girls were over dosed with estrogen hormones was the best memories I've ever had. If you had a car it was all good. Ich werde meiner Zeit in der Rhoen bergen nie mals vergessen, ehrenwort und ganz versprochen.
