Basket,
I never go anywhere without my two dogs. They are both ranch/working dogs and would not understand us just "leaving them" at home. They usually load up , or sleep in the back of our trucks so they don't miss a ride to even check the mail! In the town I live in, there's not a drive thru bank or fastfood place that does not hand out (healthy)doggie bones to our companions! There's treats on every counter in most stores around town also. It's a very dog friendly place.
On the days that tempertures are hotter , most of us look for shade trees to park under, and leave bowls of water in the back for them. We stop along the rivers with no rush to get places and allow them to run and play.
I'm sure there's a few people that don't realize how quickly a dog can be harmed or die left unattended in a closed vehicle, ( they're probably the ones leaving their kids in the cars too) but for the most part...I believe most people who own dogs, enjoy them. I would never think of "leaving" my dogs home They go camping, float the river, hiking, go horseback riding with us. If you saw them turn cart wheels wanting to "go hunting, or fishing" you too would never want to leave them.
Not everyone loves our animals the way we do, so we am very respectful to that. We keep them close, and do not allow them to run wild.
So, my answer would be... there's not a law against a dog in a vehicle in Montana, but there is a law against animal crulity...and that should be enforced !
Loving the picture posted above, So true! Tools boxes were made for dogs to ride on!!

You can check zillow.com, of course,....
But remember, Arizona is digging themselves out of massive debt right now and the situation there is desperate. The sales tax has already been hicked once, and they're talking about raising it well over 10%. They also borrowed from the fed during the recession and have to pay that back. There are no jobs. Apartment buildings are all full from the people that lost their homes. Population for the first time in many years is declining. The talk I heard on the street was very disheartening.

If you live in Montana, I would say to stay here.
