If you wish to get technical, there is a lot of evidence that the Clovis people who predate the Folsum peoples in North America were in fact from Europe not Siberia.

There is also a lot of archiological evidence that the Aborigines from Austrailia also had a population in South America prior to the Siberian tribes moving into North America and migrating South.

This politically correct term is just another wedge issue to divide people. I feel we are better than that.

I find it amusing that many of the "new arrivals" to Montana just can't seem able to lose the ..."in-your-face"... attitude that is typical of many who have moved here from some of the states in the eastern U.S.. I think (IMHO), that in many cases, a bit of jealousy may be a factor!!.. After all, not many residents of Montana can claim (accurately and justifyibly) to be "A Montana Native"............... You can certainly be proud of that status. And I know several 4th and 5th generation Montana ranch families (Native Montanans) that would "give an education" to any person who would be so "un-informed" ....(many other adjectives could apply)....as to state the above "Quote".

It is really very simple! If YOU are:
Anti-gun
Anti-hunting
anti-fishing
anti-roads
anti-off-road vehicle
Militantly vegetarian
We might not want you for a neighbor.
If you want to purchase 20 acres of brush, then put "NO TRESPASSING" signs on every other tree, and "NO HUNTING" signs on the ones in between, we might not want you for a neighbor.
If you complain about pictures of hunting (and fishing) success stories in the local paper, we might not want you for a neighbor.
If you want to make the state 80% wilderness and 20% residential, we might not want you for a neighbor.
If you think you can walk up to our front door, offer us a ridiculous price for our home, and we will jump for joy, you may be in the wrong area. (then again, if you catch us in just the right mood, we might accept your offer and laugh all the way to the bank!)
Yes, I have encountered ALL of the above!
HOWEVER,
If you can accept our state just as it is,
and you can accept us, warts and all,
and accept the fact that many of us wear boots and jeans, even to church,
and accept the fact that we just might offer you a rump roast of black bear as a "welcome, neighbor" offering,
and accept the fact that we may have RVs, boats, assorted trailers, and who knows what else, along with a horse (or cow) or two, on our place,
and accept the fact that a rusty old steel wheeled tractor and a cream separator and a walk behind plow and a windmill is not "junk" it is "yard art",
Then, WELCOME, NEIGHBOR, how was the trip? set a spell, we'll bring you a tall cold one, and you can tell us all about it!

There are lots of No Trespassing signs put up by real Montanans. But they're actually shorthand for:

Watch out for the bull.
Don't leave the gate open.
Beware of Dog.
Don't fall into the fishing hole, unless you can swim.
If you cut firewood here, only take the deadwood.
Don't spook my horses.
Pick up your trash.
Don't snowmobile over the winter wheat.
Attention Hunters: This is a cow, not a deer.
And so on.

If you understand this, then chances are the No Trespassing sign is not meant for you.
