Three. Short Hills, Saddle River, and Spring Lake, which was a bit of a surprise. More than Alpine? The first two seem pretty obvious, though.

I believe Alpine was excluded due to size. The study only considers towns that have at least 2,500 people.

All that tech and Hollywood/entertainment with a smattering of sports money..

Just take Atherton, CA for a start.

Ditto for Hillsborough, CA

Patty Hearst and Jimmy Kimmel live in Hillsborough.

Montecito, CA is where Prince Harry and his family live. Oprah. John Travolta, Ellen DeGeneres, Tom Cruise, Katy Perry, along with a pretty long list of others as well.

I am not sure Rumson is on the same tier as Saddle River. I have lived near both.

ETA: I did a quick lookup on Realtor.com, and while most of the homes for sale in both towns seem to be around $2 million, Saddle River has more properties for sale in the >$5 million range. It's just a more "exclusive" feel in SR, too. Huge houses not always visible from the road because they are on large wooded lots.

Rumson feels like rich people live there. Saddle River feels like REALLY rich people live there.
